Resum
La Generalitat de Catalunya no és aliena a la paraula comunicar. Comunicar vol dir construir. Construir vol dir crear. Crear no és fàcil. L'any 1931, i just abans de configurar-se el nou Estatut, calia dotar la Generalitat d'una imatge: l'escut, una marca que ens ha acompanyat al llarg del temps.
En aquest treball intentaré donar una visió de com la marca Generalitat de Catalunya ha evolucionat i s'ha adaptat als nous temps i com s'ha integrat en la societat de la informació. Què representa i a qui representa. També intentaré fer una incursió en la idea del símbol com a eina de poder. Finalment, miraré de fer un recorregut per algunes de les campanyes institucionals que la Generalitat de Catalunya, com a institució, ha desenvolupat i que, al meu parer, m?han semblat més interessants, per estudiar l?evolució del discurs publicitari institucional i la seva utilització ideològica.

Abstract
The Government of Catalonia (Generalitat) is not indifferent to the word ?communication?. Communicating means building. Building means creating. Creating is not easy. In 1931, before the birth of the Catalonian Statute (L?Estatut) the Generalitat needed an image (the Catalonian shield). This image has become a living brand along the time.
In this research work, I?ll try to give a point of view about the evolution of the Generalitat?s brand and its adaption at present and at the information society. I?ll try to explain what represents it and who represents to. Besides I?ll give some arguments about the idea of the symbol as a power tool. Finally, I?ll analyze some institutional campaigns from the Generalitat that seem interesting to study the evolution of the institutional advertising speech and its ideological use.
