Alejandro F. Pascual was born in Cardenas, Cuba, in 1950 and there attended La Progresiva Presbyterian School. In 1964 he leave for the United States where he obtained a B.A. in International Affairs from Eckerd College and a M.A. in Business Management from Central Michigan University. He backpacks through 11 countries in Europe pursuing his interest in history. He worked as a consultant to the NJ State Department of Education from 1973 to 1979. From November 1979 to June 1981, he drove a VW camper from New Jersey to Patagonia researching 18 Latin American countries. From 1981 to 2002 he acted as Market Development Director for Newsweek International - Latin American/Caribbean. He retired to Key West in 2006. In 2011, he wrote Cuba y el Cayo Hueso de Ayer and in 2013 Key West Passion for Cubas Liberty.This book examines the contributions made by Cubans in Key West towards Cubas independence as well as many other historical facts about this city like the cigar rollers, Jose Martis visits, the San Carlos Institute, aviation, Ernest Hemingway, among other things
